🥒🥒Introducing Dill Pickle🥒🥒!!
He is a gorgeous bay and white paint crossbred gelding. He stands 15.3 hands tall and weighs just a little over 1350 lbs. His crossbred side really shows in how stout and wide he is. He has a lot of bone and foot to him. But the perfect size and has a lot of athleticism. To me he is the perfect mix to make him the perfect all around using size. And he is just 10 yrs and has his whole life ahead of him.
🥒 Dill Pickle is one you can take to the shows or hit the trails on and truly enjoy. He is hands down a perfect all around family friendly and family favorite horse!!!! One that is bombproof and safe for anyone to ride!!! Let me say it again, he is SAFE for anyone to ride. He is at the perfect age of just 10 yrs old.
👉🏼SHOW EXPERIENCE: Dill Pickle is a natural in the show ring and on the cross country course. Rides both English and Western. Very versatile and athletic horse. Acts the same as he does at home. He's been shown at the local shows in 4H classes, English jumping, amateur English dressage, and also western ranch trail classes. Dill Pickle is the type you can enjoy and learn on. He's responsive to your seat and leg but not overly responsive or overly sensitive. He will go just as fast or as slow as you'd like. He's got a comfortable easy to sit rocking chair lope, automatic lead changes, an easy stop, and turns around correct and pretty. He's so open minded and willing. You could take him to the hunter classes and really hold your own! He packs his head low and correct and goes right to the jumps! Very pretty mover. Really picks up his knees and carries his self well.
👉🏼TRAIL&RANCH EXPERIENCE: Dill Pickle loves to trail ride!! Down the road, through the woods or take him swimming! He loves going new places!! He doesn't mind traffic, dogs or wildlife. He goes up and down the big hills carefully and easily and he goes right into the water! He loves to play and splash in the river! He will ride front, middle or back of the pack. Not at all buddy soured if you like going out on the trails alone. Been rode on a ranch and used to push cattle. Been roped of out in the pasture to help doctor sick calves. He would be perfect to help tend to a small herd or check fences on. The perfect weekend type horse.
👉🏼DISPOSITION: Dill Pickle is extremely sweet and loves being loved on. He comes right to you and puts his head in the halter. He loves kisses and having his ears scratched. Pickle is very quiet and easy to ride and be around. He is all for the rider trying new things or going new places. He is up for it. Even happy about it. He's got a very go with flow way about him. He doesn't get upset when his rider gets off balance or in his face. He's very forgiving if you mess up or give the wrong command. He would really make an excellent addition to a lesson program or just a casual rider wanting a very broke horse to enjoy!
👉🏼UPKEEP: Dill Pickle is an easy keeper. He's currently eating alfalfa hay. Which he could stay fat on weeds. When I say easy keeper. He requires nothing special. He is UTD on everything and currently barefoot. He does not need shoes. He does perfect barefoot. But has wore shoes plenty and very easy to shoe. Has good hard solid feet.
👉🏼LOADING: Dill Pickle loads and hauls like a dream. Very quiet and patient in and out of the trailer. He stands quietly tied to the trailer at the horse shows. No pawing or throwing a fit if left alone either. So makes it so easy if you want to go to the shows or trail rides with just one horse.
👉🏼TURNOUT: Dill Pickle can be by himself or in a group in the pasture. We've had him out with mares, geldings, mini ponies, mini cows, mini donkeys, etc.. without any fussing or drama. He is in the middle of the pecking order. Gets along with everyone.
👉🏼GROUND MANNERS: He is great on the ground. Respectful of personal space. He stands like a dream for grooming, washing, saddling, mounting block and he takes the bit easily. He will stand single tied and crosstied. Doesn't mind dogs, goats, small children around his feet.
👉🏼BAD HABITS/ VICES: Dill Pickle has absolutely NO bad habits or vices. Absolutely no buck, no rear, no bolt, no bite, or no kick. I cannot say it enough, this horse is a saint!!! He does not need to be warmed up or tuned up before you can go for a ride either. You can catch him straight out of the pasture and get on him. Even if it has been a few months since you rode him last. That’s a big plus in our books. Cause life gets busy and sometimes hard to make time to ride everyday. With him you don’t have to worry about that.
👉🏼TACK: We've ridden Dill Pickle in anything from a halter and lead rope bareback to a snaffle to a correction bit. Our go to bit of choice for him is a medium shank snaffle. English, western, bareback, backwards, sideways, forward, doesn’t matter to him. As long as he is getting attention from you he is happy!!
