Further information

The horse breed called Paint Horse is represented by the 'American Paint Horse Association'(APHA) in Texas. However, it is basically not an autonomous breed, but rather spotted Quarter Horses. The reason for this is that the Paint Horse has the same pedigree and origin as the American Quarter ... More about the horse breed American Paint Horse

Catch is a flashy, registered sorrel paint gelding with four long white socks and a solid, muscular build — truly built like a tank! He’s an easy keeper, gets along well with both mares and geldings, and loves being turned out. Catch enjoys attention and will happily follow you around — he’s the kind of horse that loves having “his person.”

Ground Manners:
Catch is a gentleman to handle. He leads quietly, never crowds, stands tied for grooming, and saddling. Catch really enjoys being hosed off and bathed. He’s good for the farrier and prefers to be held instead of tied to a post (never tried cross ties). He loads like a dream — just point him at the trailer and he hops right in. He hauls calmly, eats and drinks on the road, and backs out quietly.

Under Saddle:
Catch has a nice handle and is a pleasure to ride. He walks out confidently, has a smooth trot and lope, neck reins, stops big, and will leg yield, side pass, and spin with ease.

Experience & Temperament:
We’ve owned Catch for about a year. He came to us with a background in calf roping and ranch work. While he can get a little hot in the arena, he’s absolutely in his element on the trail.
He doesn’t mind barking dogs running around and chickens quacking. He might question your sanity when you add a new creature type to the farm, but he will trust you if you show him that they are safe (we have an emu)

Trail Star:
Catch shines out on the trail and in the mountains! He’ll go out alone or with a group, confidently leaving the herd behind. He’s traffic safe, sure-footed, and willing to cross logs, ditches, and ravines. Whether you stay on the trail or blaze a new one, Catch will go all day without quitting. He’ll pick up a trot or lope when asked and come right back down to a walk on a loose rein. I’m sure he’d be awesome on a cattle drive, too.

If you’re looking for a strong, good-minded, and people-loving gelding who’s ready for miles of trail adventures, Catch might be your perfect match.
