Hickory is a 10-year-old AQHA registered red roan gelding that stands 14.3 hands tall. This shapey, good-looking, royally bred horse has been used on the ranch mostly for riding pastures and checking cows. He has also been trail ridden in the mountains and all over the trails.
He has a very friendly demeanor and loves to be around people. He is very easy to catch and will come find you when you’re out doing chores. He is well broke and can be ridden one-handed or two, whichever you prefer.
He will side pass to open and close gates and picks up his leads correctly in both directions. He has the smoothest, short hobby-horse lope that feels just like a rocking chair. He is trained to let you get on from a step or mounting block and will side step over to make it easy to mount.
He crosses water, bridges, and all trail obstacles with ease. He loads and hauls well and stands great for the farrier. He loves a bath after a long day of riding.
He sells 100% sound in every way. We have had vet exams and x-rays done that can be shared if needed.
