Dino is a striking 16.2 hand, 12-year-old buckskin gelding with the kind of size, presence, and bone that commands attention. He’s big, gentle, and absolutely user-friendly—the kind that carries himself with confidence and rides as right as they come. He’s been headed on some and handles a rope with ease, pulls stout to the horn, faces well, and scores good, all while staying calm and collected. On the ranch, Dino has seen plenty of real work while gathering, sorting, doctoring and checking cattle across big country. He’s a seasoned veteran in the sale barn as well. Comfortable in tight alleys and noisy pens, working gates, penning all classes of stock, and taking the fast pace, echoes, and commotion in stride.
On the trail he’s straightforward and the “point-and-go” type. Dino crosses water, bridges, brush, and rough country without hesitation, is sure-footed on rock, and will ease along alone or settle into a group without fuss. He stands to mount, neck reins one-handed, moves off your leg, and carries a soft, collected lope that makes long miles easy. On the ground he’s just as cooperative—easy to catch, saddle, bridle, load, haul, bathe, and shoe. He ties quiet and is the same horse after time off as he is with steady riding.
Best of all, Dino suits most all levels of rider without issue. He’s honest enough for a careful novice to learn on, big and broke enough for a hand to go make a living with, and kind enough to give guests a confidence-building ride. Dino has the kind of loving, easygoing character that wins everyone over—he genuinely enjoys people, meets you at the gate with a soft eye, and carries a calm, kind presence that makes him impossible not to love. If you want a large, classy gelding that handles the job and keeps it uncomplicated—in the arena, on the ranch, or down trail. Dino can master any job and make you look good doing it!
