FLYINGBCREAMOTHECROP, better known as Calvin, is a 2012 AQHA sorrel gelding that truly checks all the boxes. He is broke right with a nice handle, moves around smooth and collected, and has the kind of willing, easy-going demeanor that makes him enjoyable to ride day in and day out. Calvin is a big, stout gelding with the kind of build that’s made to last, giving him the durability and presence to hold up in a variety of jobs. He is the definition of a versatile, everyday using horse—whether you’re heading down the trail, riding around the house, or looking for a performance partner, he steps up and handles whatever is asked of him with ease.
Out on the trail, Calvin is as dependable as they come. He confidently crosses water, logs, and rough terrain without hesitation and handles traffic well, making him a great choice for someone who wants a horse they can trust outside of the arena. He’s the type you can saddle up and go with, no fuss, no drama—just a solid, steady ride every time.
In the arena, Calvin has proven himself as a 1D/2D and amateur rodeo winning barrel horse. While he has not been competed on since 2022, his foundation and experience are still there, making him a great option for someone looking to bring one back into competition or continue his career at their own pace. For performance purposes, we would recommend him for an experienced youth rider, but his kind nature and solid mind also make him beginner-friendly for everyday riding and trail use.
Calvin also shows potential on the roping side as a rope horse prospect and has been tracking the calf dummy. He’s a “been there, done that” type that carries himself with confidence and consistency, making him a great candidate for someone wanting to take him in multiple directions. He’s an easy keeper, stands well for the farrier, loads with ease, and is simple to have around the barn.
He does require regular maintenance if kept in performance work, as expected for a horse of his caliber, but he has not been injected since 2023. Calvin is loaded with personality and is the kind of horse that will quickly become a favorite in anyone’s barn. Solid, dependable, and versatile—he’s the kind that’s getting harder and harder to find.
