Lucky Smokey “Lucky” – AQHA Dappled Buckskin Gelding
Meet Lucky Smokey, affectionately known around the barn as Lucky. Lucky is a registered AQHA dappled buckskin gelding with a kind eye, beautiful build, and the type of personality everyone enjoys being around. He is a grandson of the well-known Two Eyed Red Buck, carrying on the look and versatility that pedigree is known for.
Lucky is truly the “in your pocket” type that greets you at the gate and enjoys attention. He has a sweet, willing disposition and a trainable mind that makes him enjoyable to ride and handle.
Under saddle, Lucky has a great foundation and continues to progress nicely. In the arena he walks, trots, and canters smoothly while picking up both leads with ease. He moves nicely off leg pressure, neck reins, and side passes. Lucky also has a nice start to a spin and naturally wants to carry himself correctly while setting his head and traveling in a balanced frame.
Lucky has been ridden both English and Western, showing his versatility and willingness to adapt. He has been started over ground poles and cross rails and shows promise for riders who may want to continue him in English disciplines as well.
Outside of the arena, Lucky has many trail miles under his belt. He enjoys getting out on the trail and is always willing to go wherever he is asked. He has been exposed to a variety of environments and handles new situations with a willing attitude.
