Chic O Stick is a cute 5 yr old red roan gelding standing exactly 15 hands, with plenty of bone good confirmation and full of personality. Chico is smooth easy going and a pleasure to be around. Sired by Hickory Holly Time, (LTE of over 230,000) making him eligible for the Riata Buckle, The Royal Crown Roping and the NRCHA Cow Horse Incentive.
Chico has been trained in the cow horse and could continue to show there, he circles great, can really stop and has extra nice spins. He is soft and has enough feel for the advanced riders to enjoy him but he’s quiet and forgiving enough for an absolute beginner too. He would also be a fantastic candidate for the Ranch classes he has clean soft transition up or down. A cool long trot, beautiful movement, he would stand out in the steer stopping, and Kyle do the obstacles phenomenal, and just has a presence the judges loves.
Chico has a fantastic start in the heeling too. He’s ready to go jackpot on. He scores great, makes the corner and just drags his rear end every time.
But if you’re not a show horse guy go take Chico outside he shines just as much. He crosses water and rocky terrain he’s quiet and thoughtful about where he puts his feet. He’s trotted out many mornings to gather and ship wheat cattle. He’s great to doctor on outside. Just complete solid citizen in or out of the arena.
This horse is also youth suitable, the last month we have let a youth cow horse on him and he never takes advantage. He’s solid on the fence, circles great and is gritty in the boxing. This horse has so many different avenues he could go down. The best part about him he STAYS GENTLE with all the time off and all the feed he still saddles back up level headed and gentle as can be.
This horse will radiograph clean, will pass a PPE and you are welcome to call us to get one scheduled, he has great bone, good feet, can go shod or barefoot and requires no maintenance at all.
