• Rhett’s pedigree traces directly to NRHA money earners and elite reiners. He is by Great King Jack (Great King Pine x Great Red Jackie) out of Smokin Gabby Gablian. Great King Jack has over $47k in NRHA earnings and 30.5 AQHA total performance points.His foals collectively have earned over $73k in NRHA earnings and 22.5 points, AQHA Great King Jack is an NRHA world champion, an NRHA reserve world champion, and a FQHR world champion in reining and the reined cow horse. He has produced an AQHA Quarter Congress world champion and a NRHA futurity reserve champion as well.
• Great King Pine has over $157k in NRHA earnings. Great Red Jackie’s foals collectively earned over $148k in NRHA earnings as well. Two of her foals are world NRHA champions.
• Rhett was trained by NRHA trainer Bill Thomas Jr. from Bill Thomas Performance Horses. Bill has won world championships from the 2010 American Ranch Horse Association, (ARHA), 2012 Pinto Horse Association (PHA), and the 2014 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). Bill is also the proud owner and showman of Great King Jack, Rhett’s sire. Rhett even has Bill’s brand on his left hind leg!
• Rhett has all the eye appeal and talent for the show pen and knows all reining maneuvers. He has deep sliding stops, does flying lead changes, and has stylish spins. His speed control with collection is well dialed in - speeding up or slowing down when asked. Rhett has excellent body control too, moving his hips or shoulders when cued. His handle is soft yet precise to your seat and leg, allowing him to stay low, relaxed, and composed.
• Rhett does well in the ranch too with his strong foundation and responsiveness. He has been around cattle, dummy roped, gone over bridges, and has dragged logs and barrels. You can bull whip off his back and hang a tarp over him. He has seen it all from riding down the road and has been through traffic. He’s been on trail rides and he loves it. He is easily maintained and would be safe for any level rider.
• Rhett is a gentleman for the vet and farrier and has no issue with being hot shod. He is UTD on his Coggins, vet, farrier, sheath, dewormer, and dental. Rhett has a club foot on his front left. It has been thoroughly vet checked and X-rayed, and the vet cleared him for long-term reining use. He has had no performance or soundness issues. He is maintained with front shoes. PPE’s welcome at buyer’s expense.
• His ground manners are impeccable – respectful, easy to handle, and uncomplicated in daily care. No bad habits or vices. He loads, ties, and cross ties with ease. Rhett stands quietly to saddle, bridle, groom, and pick out his hooves. He gets along well with all the horses in his pasture and is easy to catch.
• Selling due to no fault of his own – his owner’s family is growing, and she no longer has the time he deserves. Rhett is currently in training with and located at Bill Thomas Performance Horses in Saginaw, MI.
