Scottsdale is an 8 year old Quarter Horse x Gypsy Vanner gelding standing 15 hands high. When do you ever see a horse colored like him? "Scotty" has a whole lot more to offer than his unique blue roan paint coat, he is quiet, smart, and the most point and shoot trail horse around. If you wake up one day and decide you want to try something new, Scotty is the perfect partner to do it with. Hunt, trail ride, camp, jump, let the kids enjoy him, or throw the husband or guests up there and go for a ride! You can let him sit for weeks, load him in the trailer, go anywhere, and have the same safe and honest horse in any environment. We have gone on bridleless trail rides, done all the obstacle courses, and gone on lots of fun camping trips with him. Shine him up and hit the show ring, or hit the trails today with a solid, safe, and enjoyable horse that you can trust to not get you, or your confidence, hurt.
In the ring, Scottsdale is more whoa than go, has good brakes, and a nice neck rein. He came to us from working a job in the stockyards pushing and sorting cattle, so ring work is nothing to blink an eye at to him. He is very comfortable, picks up both leads, and is even schooling his flying changes! He has always been safe and simple with us and all of the kids who have climbed on his back. The kids ride him double, without a bridle, on the trails, into the house, and everywhere in between! With some easy finishing touches, he absolutely could go around and do the dressage and show horse job. He has the brain, foundation, and knowledge of basic lateral work, setting him up for success in any direction.
On the trails is where Scottsdale really shines. There is nowhere you can't go with this horse. He is a true point and shoot ride. Banks, hills, ditches, water, mud, traffic, livestock, you name it he's seen it a million times before. He loves the trail obstacle courses and has been one of the bravest yet to tackle all of the obstacles. He steps over tarps, goes over bridges, up and down big steps, onto the tires, through water, and more. Scottsdale is happy riding alone or in a group, ponies other horses, and is really a pleasure to have out and about. He's easy to load, stands tied, and is the same horse on any terrain. He truly is a reliable and sure footed partner out on the trails.
In the barn, Scottsdale is used to all of the kids climbing on and around him. He enjoys being groomed and enjoys attention. He's a good boy for all the usual barn activities, and is a very easy keeper. Scottsdale generally lives out in a herd, though is a good bit when stalled too. He has a gentle nature and easygoing personality that is easy to fall in love with!
