APPLEWOOD — Don’t scroll past this one.
9 Years Old • 14.3 Hands • Dun Blanket Appaloosa Gelding
You could line up a hundred geldings and still spot this one first. Applewood is a standout — a striking dun blanket Appaloosa with tiger stripes on his legs and a look that flat gets attention.
What really makes “Woody” special is how he feels under saddle. He’s consistent, pleasant, and makes every ride feel simple. Not hot, not heavy, and never complicated — just a steady, responsive gelding that’s easy to get along with from the first ride, and stays that way. He’s safe, dependable, and well-suited for riders of many levels.
And he’s a cool ranch horse to the core. Woody has branded and worked cattle, and he loves it — the kind that stays handy, pays attention, and acts like he’s proud of his job. He’s been started on the heeling and enjoys cow work, with a willing attitude that makes him fun to ride and easy to keep improving.
Woody has been hauled and exposed to just about everything: tarps, flags, obstacles, bridges, tires, water, brush, and traffic — and he takes it all in stride with a calm, steady mind.
If you love to ride outside, Woody shines. He’s confident and sure-footed on the trail, navigating water crossings, wildlife, tight paths, logs, brush, and rocky ground with focus and care. He pays attention to where he puts his feet and stays composed when the terrain gets real — not just pretty.
In the arena, Applewood is smooth and balanced with a comfortable way of going. He picks up both leads, moves out quietly, stays soft in the face and body, has a nice stop, backs willingly, and turns easily without getting stiff or overdone. Honest, uncomplicated, and enjoyable.
On the ground, Woody is just as reliable. He hauls well, stands tied, bathes, clips, and is good for the farrier. Stalled or turned out, alone or in a group, he’s the same solid horse every time — no surprises.
Applewood is one of a kind — uniquely marked, easy to ride, and the kind of horse you’ll be proud to own. Whether you’re building confidence or you’ve been doing this a long time, he’s the kind of partner you can feel secure on. Come meet him or call to learn more.
