R Two Starlite, described as “the ultimate ranch horse” by Sarah and Mozaun McKibben and from whom I purchased the horse three months ago, is being offered for sale again.
In the slightly over three months I have owned him, Starlite has only been ridden approximately 10 times; this horse deserves and needs to be ridden.
Not a horse for beginners and sometimes tense when first mounted. The following description, pictures and video by the McKibbens demonstrate the diverse ability of this outstanding horse.
“Cowboy looking, red roan, and built to last a lifetime. Tumbleweed is the ultimate ranch horse and the most trusty partner headed down the trails and through the mountains. This sweet natured gelding has seen lots of country and been a top hand on our TX ranch as well as AZ. Tumbleweed goes right through water, mud, brush, rocky terrain and prickly cactus. He walks on a loose rein and is confident alone or in a group. Busy traffic, heavy machinery, and loud commotion do not faze him. He’s accustomed to crazy dogs, buffalo, pigs, wildlife and even a camel. Tumbleweed ropes both ends in the team roping. He’s quiet in the box, rates cattle good, and knows his job. He’s been roped on in the pasture as well, will work the rope and can hold anything dallied to his saddle horn. Tumbleweed has been ridden English and bareback too. He collects nicely, has good lead departures, will jump over obstacles and side pass to open and shut any gate. He has a one handed neck rein and will steer right where you send him. Tumbleweed is easy to catch, good turned out with other horses, and easy to have around the barn. He has great ground manners and is always a gentleman. Tumbleweed is fancy enough for the ranch boss, handy for a day working cowboy, honest for weekend roper or solid for someone just wanting a really nice pleasure horse. He is the same trip every time and doesn’t need daily riding to stay trained. Tumbleweed will lay down with a touch of the finger and let you get right on. He’s a simple, fun, and easy horse to own. He’s conformationally correct, balanced, and sound in every way. He’s utd on vaccines, worming, and shoeing. …”
