Stunning 2015 Bay Roan Mare — Broke, Honest, Town Safe, Trail

Meet Moxie— a 2015 AQHA, 15.H bay roan mare with all the shape, color, and demeanor everyone wants. She’s built like a brick house— wide, stout, and strong— with a deep girth, powerful shoulder, balanced wither, and excellent bone. Her kind, honest disposition makes her a joy to ride and handle and her pedigree— a great granddaughter of Peppy San Badger— adds that extra value for anyone looking to ride or raise quality stock. 
Willing, kind, and honest— those are the words that sum Moxie up best. She has a great personality and is incredibly sweet to be around. She is not Mariah at all with people and is always the horse at our barn we can count on to just quietly do her job. While she may take a moment to warm up to new people, she does so quickly and is eager to please under saddle and on the ground. She is very food motivated (she’ll never turn down a cookie) and always happy to see you. 
Moxie is super broke and user-friendly. She walk-trot-lopes both directions on a loose rein, neck reins, and knows the word “whoa” very well. She has a balanced amount of go and rate—she’ll stride out if you ask her to, but she’ll also slow down to match your pace. I’d say she leans slightly more forward-moving, but still incredibly safe and sane. She’s been used to pony colts, help work cattle, and exercise green horses, and she takes every new task like she’s been doing it forever. You can bit her up in a big bridle or ride off in a halter and lead rope— it really depends more on the rider’s skill level than hers. One of the best things about Moxie is how well she does with time-off—I’ve given her several weeks off, swung a leg over, and rode off without a single issue. She picks up right where she left off, no funny business. 
Moxie can stand quietly for hours (no pawing), stands nicely for the vet and farrier, and enjoys being groomed and bathed. She is excellent in the arena, out on the trail, or just riding through the pasture. She’s been nothing but a joy in our program and has never given us a problem. She genuinely seems happy to be ridden and never pins an ear under saddle. She’s the barn favorite— everyone loves her, and I’ll be sad to see her go. 
Moxie is the type of mare who will shine in multiple avenues. Use her a trail horse, working ranch horse, broodmare, safe all-around riding partner, or even just a well-loved, pretty pasture pet. She is honest as the day is long, a pleasure to ride, and has the kind of mind that’s easy to trust.
