Olive is a 12-year-old grade black mare standing right at 15.3 hands. She’s a big, pretty mare with a kind eye and an honest, steady way about her. She’s been used consistently as a trail horse and has covered a lot of miles all over the California countryside. She’s seen just about everything you can think of—wildlife, bikes, traffic, hikers—and takes it all in stride. Olive is confident out on her own or with other horses and is the type that will go where you point her without hesitation. Bridges, water, rough ground, windy roads—she handles it with a level head and stays the same horse every ride. She isn’t spooky and has no bolt, which makes her a really solid, dependable partner on the trail. What stands out about Olive is how consistent she is. Whether she’s ridden every day or has had some time off, she comes back the same—quiet, willing, and easy to get along with. She enjoys having a job and is always ready to go, but she’s not hot or hard to manage. In the arena, she’s just as enjoyable. She’s soft, responsive, and easy to guide with a neck rein. She can spin, pivot, and move nicely off leg, and she has a smooth, comfortable gait. She’s not a deadhead, but she’s not pushy either—just a nice, in-between ride that a lot of people appreciate. She’s also been around cattle and took to it well, showing interest without getting overwhelmed. She could easily go on to do trail challenges, beginner sorting, or even some lower-level endurance riding. At the same time, her quiet and trustworthy nature makes her a good fit for a family setting, and she’s been safe around kids. Olive is the kind of mare that’s hard to come by—steady, experienced, and still fun to ride. She’s looking for someone who wants a reliable partner to enjoy miles with, whether that’s out on the trail or in the arena, or in the backyard with her family! She does have an old superficial wire scar on her front left foot, which is no issue at all, just physically cosmetic. PPE’s are welcomed and encouraged! She is located in Bitterwater California.
