Standing 15.1 hands and just 8 years old, Ruby is in the prime of her life and ready to thrive in whatever direction you take her. Whether you’re looking for a confidence-building family horse, a reliable show partner, a steady trail companion, or a capable ranch mount—Ruby checks every box. Ruby began her career in cutting in Weatherford, Texas, and competed in that discipline for two years before I purchased her four years ago to develop her in ranch versatility. She was born broke—quiet, sensible, and unbothered by the world. My kids, just 4 and 7 at the time, started riding her when she was only four because she was that chill. Since then, she’s been successfully shown in a variety of events including: Cutting Ranch Riding Ranch Conformation Ranch Pleasure Ranch Rail Ranch Trail Mechanical Cow Ruby’s calm, willing attitude and striking red roan coat make her a standout both in and out of the show pen. Most recently, she was the first show horse for my 9-year-old daughter, patiently guiding her through numerous classes and shows. Ruby is the exact same horse away as she is at home—steady, forgiving, and confidence-inspiring. She helped my daughter build a strong foundation before moving on to reiners exclusively. If you’re a new rider or someone working to rebuild confidence, Ruby is the kind of horse that gives back. But if you’re experienced and ready to go compete or get work done on the ranch, she’ll rise to the occasion. She’s been trail ridden extensively, used in lessons, and regularly ponies my young horses—including the reluctant ones who don’t want to cross water. She can also go English and loves it! She just started learning how to jump, and she's super willing. She’s a strong, steady mare who’s also been used as a heel horse and to drag calves to the branding fire. Ruby can go all day. She's truly an all-around horse as I have yet to find a job she can't do! In the four years I’ve owned her, she’s always been barefoot, sound, and never taken a lame step. She’s a super easy keeper, up to date on everything (vaccines, teeth, etc.), and as sane as they come. She’s not mareish at all, lives happily in a mixed herd, and while she’s the alpha mare, she’s not aggressive. Her personality is everything people want—easygoing, in-your-pocket, and friendly without being pushy. She’s respectful, has excellent ground manners, and is a joy to handle: leads, loads, ties, stands quietly, and is usually waiting for you at the gate. If you’re looking for a proven show partner, a steady and honest trail mount, or a well-rounded ranch horse, Ruby is ready to go to work. Check out her YouTube video to see what she can do. Many of the clips are actual show videos of my kids competing on her! She’s a rare find, and someone is going to be incredibly lucky to call her theirs.
