This handsome gelding is a 6-year-old, ½ Clyde, ¼ Perch, ¼ QH cross. Standing a sturdy 17 hands, he’s hard to miss! He’s got all the flash, with his big blaze and pretty white socks. Clydes are known for being gentle giants, and Clifford truly lives up to that expectation—he’s always the first to come running in from the field! Not only is he gentle, but he’s incredibly versatile and athletic for his size. He can jump around and then walk on a loose rein right after. He’s a total trail master and has been suitable for riders of all sizes and levels. He’s a natural babysitter, and his good looks are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his qualities!
In the ring, this big boy has lovely, easy-to-ride gaits at the walk, trot, and canter. He’s balanced, well-rounded, and will even do walk-to-canter transitions. He’s very adaptable to his rider and adjustable at all three gaits. He’s more of a push ride; however, once you ask him to go, he has great self-carriage and impulsion. He has big, floaty movement while still being easy to sit at the trot and canter. He moves well off the leg and can take a joke like a champ. He has toted around everyone, from dead beginners to more experienced riders—and everyone gets off him with a smile! Clifford is fun to ride, has a light feel for his size, and makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. He rides English, Western, and bareback. He neck reins and direct reins, is responsive without being overly sensitive, and rides to the level of his rider. This guy is worth his weight in gold!
On the trail, Clifford is happy to lead or follow. He has a calm nature and has been on various trails with plenty of distractions, always keeping his cool. He’s a great packer for any level and comfortable enough to ride all day long. He’s sensible, steady, and just happy to do his job. On the ground, Clifford is easy to handle and incredibly sweet. He likes people, enjoys having a purpose, and will truly bond with his person. He loads right into the trailer like a superstar.
