6 year old 14.3h Connemara × Gypsy × Quarter Horse Gelding
Ritz is a beautiful and unique cross with a striking golden color and spotted Appaloosa blanket that makes him stand out wherever he goes. He has been an absolute star in our program, proving himself to be incredibly versatile and fun to ride. Rides bareback and double.
We have done a little bit of everything with Ritz — from dressage and jumping to trails — and he absolutely loves the cross country field. He is currently jumping 2’6 courses with lead changes both directions and has comfortably jumped 3’ single fences. He is extremely versatile in his way of going — he will frame up like a dressage horse, stretch down like a hunter, or happily cruise on a loose rein for the ranch horse classes. Been exposed to cattle and help gather longhorn.
Ritz is extremely well trained to voice and leg cues and can even be ridden completely bridleless. He has completed our entire obstacle course, confidently rides to town, and is 100% traffic safe, even with loud trucks. We have even taken him on rides to our local ice cream shop.
He is a beautiful mover and very fun jumper, with a sporty way of going that riders who enjoy a responsive and well trained horse will truly appreciate. Ritz enjoys having a job and is always eager to go to work. He is just the most adorable gelding!
To make him even more special, Ritz also knows a few fun tricks — he is trained to lay down and sit like a dog, and his fun, cheeky personality makes him a barn favorite. Go inside or out.
A Pony Club rider or ambitious junior would absolutely adore this talented and versatile gelding.
