Not only is he rare in color and shape - not everyday you see a 15.2h line-backed silver buckskin Percheron/QH cross - but his calm, grounding energy is just as unique. He will happily put his head in your arms and stay that way as long as your heart desires. As a coming 4 year old, Blackfoot has a solid foundation and lovely manners. He will lope a circle, pick up all four feet, carry you down the trail, meet you at the gate, and put a smile on your face everyday. He is a solid traveler and enjoys off property adventures - he unloads confidently in new places. Blackfoot has been on field trips to other arenas where we have tested him out over low fences - and he has shown us two of the qualities we love the most : honesty and willingness. He is a comfortable ride, with three beautiful gaits - a lively walk, a soft, easy to sit trot and a smooth lope. He has learned to be responsive to leg cues and is already quite soft in the bridle. Blackfoot is easy to mount from the ground and stands still for you, every time. Flags, tarps, roping dummies, scattering chickens, darting barn cats - nothing seems to phase him. He will stand quietly and patiently on a loose, relaxed rein. With nice sized, sure feet and a strong, compact build, Blackfoot was born to carry weight. He would make an excellent backcountry trail mount, laid-back pleasure horse or your next personal therapist. This gelding has an easy going temperament and steady mind - he is the perfect example of why draft crosses are so popular - and we think the future is bright for this one. Blackfoot is relaxed in a herd, landing near the bottom of the pecking order. He also lives peacefully in a stall.
