Oak Hills Range River is a striking big blue roan draft cross mare that’s as dependable as she is beautiful. She’s an all terrain partner with the comfort and ride quality you’d expect from a luxury vehicle!!
Whether you’re trail riding through rough countryside, crossing creeks, climbing hills or enjoying a relaxed ride. River takes it all in stride. She has the size, strength and steady mind to confidently carry riders wherever the trail leads.
This absolutely stunning mare has all the wonderful qualities you want in a partner and best friend. Her quiet disposition and amazing brain make her a wonderful part of any family looking. She has no bad baggage and has only had the best upbringing and start in life. Very trusting and absolutely adores people. She is very kind and loving. First to greet you at the gate to come in everyday.
River goes very nicely in and out of the ring. Her gaits are extremely comfortable and easy to ride. Picks up her leads. Has the best canter you will find on a big horse. It’s very rhythmic, steady and easy to sit too. Has been ridden by all kinds of riders. Wouldn’t hesitate to put anyone on her. One of her favorite things to do is on hot days go down to the pond for a swim!! She isn’t spooky or silly never has offered to do anything mean or naughty.
Let’s talk about barn manners. River is an absolute gem in the barn to do whatever you want with her. The smallest of kids can lead her in and out. She is very careful and quiet as a mouse to work on and around. Stands in cross ties like a statue to clip, bathe and groom. Loves her stall and will stand in front of her fan all day without a peep from her. Out in the field she goes out in a mixed herd. No issues or problems with her. Very easy to have at the farm. Great for the blacksmith and vet. Currently is barefoot with wonderful feet. Loads right up on the trailer and loves to go on adventures!!
It’s been an absolute pleasure to own this mare she hasn’t put a foot wrong and will stand behind her 100 percent. I have several refs and would love to share them with you.
