A Good Reputation is her registered name we call her Java and she’s living up to her name she’s making a good reputation for herself. She’s broke both to ride and drive and she’s even started on the lay down cue! She is a Friesian Morgan registered through the Friesian Sport Horse registry. Standing at 16.1 hands tall and stout she can easily carry a taller rider and can pull a bigger cart.

But don’t let her height scare you away if you are a shorter rider like myself. She knows the come over cue and will side pass over to a mounting block for you to get on. She has also been started on the lay down cue so she will lay down for mounting as well.

Java is excellent under harness. She stands great for hitching, getting on/off the cart, and at the stop signs. She is easy on the lines and can make the tight turns side passing over in the buggy. She knows the commands whoa, easy, walk on, trot, and back. She is not bothered at all by the traffic. She does NOT spook easily.

Under saddle she’s great too. She really does excel out on the trails. She doesn’t mind the wildlife. And will cross logs, bridges, and water. She will tackle those steep hills like it was nothing. She is sure footed and knows how to pick her way down easily.

She rides fine in a group or away from home alone. She’ll separate out on the trail. And will ride front back or middle. She has the flashy Friesian movement she likes to naturally pick her feet up higher and show off. She has smooth gaits and easy to post to trot and a nice canter.

She has good ground manners. She’ll stand for tacking/grooming. Good for the farrier. Stands well for mounting from the ground or a block. She is friendly and easy to catch. She gets along in the pasture and is an easy keeper. She is middle of the pecking order. Right now, a smaller horse is the boss of Java in the pasture.

Java also is comfortable doing arena work. She knows how to move off of your leg and seat and has a good neck rein. She knows how to move her shoulders and hindquarters and is also started on the side passing and doing quite well at it. She picks up her correct leads and can take her canter off the walk.

So, let’s recap she rides great she drives excellent and she’s comfortable doing arena work. And not only that you get a bonus in that she is started on her lay down cue. Most horses twice her age do not have the reputation this girl does. At her age she can only keep getting better. She has the right start in life and is ready to go into any new direction you want to take her. She has the looks and the brains to match. And she has so much experience already under her cinch.

I just love the Friesian Morgan crosses. They make the perfect mix of brains, personality, looks, and build. You get the best of both worlds in Java. Just check out her video and see for yourself.
