The definition of equine luxury — a striking, jet-black, gelding with the size, style, and presence to turn heads! ROYCE is a 4 yr old, 1/2 Friesian, 1/4 Morgan, 1/4 Percheron Gelding registered in the Friesian Heritage Horse association, standing at 16.3 hands tall.
Royce walk-trot-canters both directions, picks up the correct leads. Transitions smoothly, moves laterally, light in the bridle, & stops from your seat or a simple “whoa”. Royce is always willing, eager to learn, & forgiving making him suitable for a variety of riders and disciplines. No saddle, no bridle, no problem! Climb on and enjoy a leisurely stroll. Royce still stops, still steers, & still walk, trot, canters with nothing more than leg aids & a rope around his neck!
On the trail, Royce hacks out alone or in a group. Content to lead or follow. Crosses water, goes up & down inclines, over bridges, through wooded paths, and across open pastures. Royce is easy to load, haul, and is unbothered in new settings. Myself, my daughter & her friends have taken him along to State & National Parks on day rides, he is unbothered by wildlife, hikers, and other passing riders. Always a fun time!
On the farm, Royce has worked along stock dogs to move cattle. He’s ridden along side tractors, combines, atv’s, and other machinery without issue. He is traffic safe, gun safe, unbothered by waving tarps, and proudly carries the flag. Safe & seasoned around kids, dogs, cattle & other livestock.
At home, Royce is exceptional. A gentleman on the ground, respectful on the lead, stands tied, cross tied, and is a very personable horse. If Royce is in the pasture, he’ll follow right behind me to the barn. My toddler is typically along for chores and Royce is always careful. He lowers his head for my son give him a pat and is extremely tolerant of a wild little boy in the barn. Royce has zero stall vices, always neat & tidy. Also perfectly content outside alone or in a mixed herd.
