Governor is a 5 year old Friesian x Percheron gelding standing 16.2 hands high. He is brave, comfortable, and built to last. There is no horse built better to hunt! Governor has the brains, athletic ability, and sensibility to tackle any terrain with any level rider. He's suitably sized for the husband or a larger rider, yet so gentle that we can ride around the trails with the babies in the saddle with us. He is light and soft, with comfortable gaits, making for an easy and smooth ride. He is educated on the flat, brave to even the most intimidating fences, and reliable on absolutely any terrain.
•
In the ring, Governor is putting together first level tests with ease, and knows all of the lateral work. He will ride round in the bridle, or stretch out like a hunter, and neck rein like a western horse. Whatever your preference or discipline, Governor has the training and versatility to fit into the job you want to do that day. He loves to do working equitation drills and enjoys learning new things with his rider. Dressage clinics, cross country schooling, trail obstacle classes, Governor has done it all and has been a fun and safe parter to try things with! The kids ride him in lessons, and he is forgiving and kind with riders of all levels. Riding him, you don't feel like you're on a big draft cross. He is light and soft in the bridle, with comfortable, easy to sit gaits. He side passes, pivots, and word well off the seat and leg.
•
On the trails, Governor is trustworthy and sure footed. We trust him to ride with the babies in the saddle with us, and the older kiddos double behind us. He loves water, and will cross any creek, bridge, road, or ditch without a second thought. He is brave and steady going up and down steep hills, banks, deep water, and on busy roadways. Governor is used to loading up and going to ride new places, and is the same horse on and off property. He rides aline, in a group, and off from the group without issue.
•
In the barn, Governor is the biggest puppy dog. He absolutely adores his people and soaks up any attention he can get. He's well mannered and gentle, and is used to the kids loving on him constantly. In the pasture, he will follow you around all day - he is a true pal! He would like to move into the house with you if you'd let him! He has a sweet, personable, personality that everyone falls in love with. Governor lives outside in a large herd, and is a good boy when stalled as well. He has no vices, and requires no maintenance.
