Pumpkin is a 5yr old Friesian Morgan cross mare standing at 15 hands tall. She has that nice stout build with the solid legs and feet of the Friesian so she can easily carry a bigger rider. And we bought Pumpkin from the breeders, so we have her full story there are NO unknowns with her. Pumpkin both rides and drives. For riding she is great she will tackle the steep hills and banks no problems. She will cross big logs, bridges both big and small, and crosses creeks/rivers. She has smooth gaits. She takes her cues right away when asked. She knows how to move off of your legs and has a willing to please attitude. She is very friendly and easy to catch she catches herself. She has that nice Morgan personality that wants to be with people. She gets along great out in the herd she’s middle of the pecking order. She’s an easy keeper. She stands so good for the farrier that she gets the hot shoe treatment. She stands good for mounting and tacking. Loads right in the trailer and backs right out. And she doesn’t mind having a doggy friend along out in the woods. Tramp loves to come running full speed up behind her and popping in and out of the brush and she doesn’t mind it at all. She is a fun enjoyable ride and the thing I love most about her is how smart she is she really takes after the Morgan side in the way she acts and thinks. The icing on the cake is the Friesian side with that nice stocky build and the thick wavy mane and tail. And I love a good looking blood bay she just has it all good confirmation and genetics. For driving she stands good to hitch and unhitch. Stands good at the stop signs and for getting on/off the cart. She is fine with light traffic, but if it is something big, noisy, or really scary she will look at it or step to the side that is all she does she has NEVER did anything worse than that. She has always been driven down quieter dirt country roads, so she really hasn’t seen a lot of different traffic. And she has absolutely NO bad habits or vices and NO maintenance required. I would consider her a husband safe type of horse. She comes up to date on everything farrier, vet check, coggins, shots, and dewormings. Just give a call if you have any more questions or want to come see her. She is truly a very nice willing mare with a very friendly personality and if you love to do trails you will really love Pumpkin, she is a trail queen!
