What a sweet individual we have to offer you! Rusty truly lives up to his name — that rich red roan coat gleams like polished copper, giving him the warm, “rusty” glow that makes him stand out wherever he goes. His size, color, and personality do not come around very often, and it is easy to see why everyone falls in love with him. Rusty is a 2021 model Gypsy/Quarter Horse cross standing at that just-right size of 14.3 hands. He has built to last with correct conformation, a kind eye, a thick bushy tail, two white socks, and a striking white blaze that completes his handsome look. From the moment you meet him, Rusty’s sweet and gentle nature shines through. He is the first to meet you at the gate, ears forward and waiting for a good scratch or a pat on the neck. He loves people, enjoys being brushed and fussed over, and is always eager to please. He has that calm, old soul personality that is hard to find — confident, patient, and kind, whether you are on his back or simply standing by his side. Rusty has been ridden Western, English, and bareback. He is just as happy working in the indoor or outdoor arena as he is out exploring new trails. He has been on countless miles through the woods, across creeks, over logs, up and down hills — taking it all in stride, sure-footed and steady every step of the way. Rusty is the kind of horse that does not get in a hurry but will move out willingly when asked. He is smooth, balanced, and dependable, making every ride a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Whether you want a quiet companion for a relaxed trail ride, a dependable partner to take down the road, or a fun, versatile horse to enjoy in the arena, Rusty fits the bill. He side-passes to make mounting easy, knows his leads, and moves willingly off leg pressure. His walk, trot, and canter are all smooth and easy to ride — you can sit him all day without getting tired. He rides with a nice, soft one-hand neck rein and stays quiet under saddle no matter what you are doing. Rusty has been exposed to about everything he is desensitized to tarps, jugs, gunshots, and whips. He has been on state roads and through traffic, staying calm and steady. He has even learned a few fun tricks, like laying down and sitting up on command, showing just how intelligent and willing he is. He is great with kids, loves attention, and does not require daily riding to stay the same. Give him a few days or even a few weeks off, and you can saddle up and go — he will be the same sweet, dependable gelding every time. Rusty is up to date on all his deworming, vaccinations, and shoeing. He is one of those rare horses that truly has it all — the looks, the build, the color, and the mind to match. If you have been looking for a loyal partner who is as honest as the day is long, Rusty is ready to meet you at the gate with his big heart and quiet confidence. If this sounds like the horse that you have been looking for, please feel free to reach out to Duane @ 330-231-2324 for more information or to meet him in person.

Further information

I started my journey in the horse industry in 1995 when I purchased my very first pony at 11 years old. I spent an entire year devoted to training, riding,, and teaching him fun tricks like laying down, sitting, and bowing. I sold him later that year; the feeling of providing a well trained, well behaved, horse was so rewarding that I felt I wanted to continue to share my gift. In 2007, I married my awesome wife Miriam, and we have been blessed with six incredible children (two daughters and four sons) that participate daily with the operation of the farm. What started as myself and a dream has become the full time commitment of my family, and ten employees. The opportunity to share our horsemanship has been so rewarding. In kind, we have been so blessed to learn from professional experts and knowledgeable friends that have voluntarily poured into us their invaluable years of knowledge.

Our program has developed, changed, and grown along the way to ensure that we are producing a quality horse that we know we can stand behind. We start by carefully evaluating each horse before purchase. We specialize in quality quarter horses, draft crosses, and also Friesian and Gypsy crosses, from performance to trail riding to leisure.

After selection, we take the horse through our groundwork program to get connected with them as individuals. We take them through obstacles and trail ride them, exposing them to anything they may ever encounter.

Then, we give the horses a break for up to one month. This allows us to see how the training will stick with them. If they come back in the same place they were before the break we know they are ready to move through the rest of the program and become finished Buckeye Acre Farm horses, learning all of the fun crowd pleasing tricks. We feel we have one of the best soundness guarantees in the business, and we will stand behind that.

This has been an awesome journey, and God continues to bless and humble us each and every day. All of us, from our children to our employees, want to provide the best quality horses that you and your families will enjoy for years to come. Over the years we have experienced that the horse market changes, but also that a quality horse is always in high demand. If you see a horse that meets your needs, please reach out to us. I look forward to your call, and to speaking with you personally about your next equine partner.

May God bless your day.
