Briko
Isi- Pony Mix Wallach
*2017

**Briko**
Icelandic Pony mix gelding
*2017
Height: approx. 13 hh
Weight: approx. 360 kg
Strong, well-proportioned conformation

Briko came to us unbroken in October 2025 following the death of his previous owner. He is a very open, people-oriented, eager-to-learn and confident gelding who has learned a great deal over the past year and is keen to continue learning.

He started with us with everyday handling, groundwork and lunging. He is full of motivation and energy, combined with a few cheeky ideas of his own.

His teeth were done in winter. Afterwards, he was accustomed to the bit and the double lunge line. He was then started in driving and driven in front of a carriage.

In spring, he received physiotherapy/osteopathic treatment and was started under saddle. His current level of training is walk and trot under saddle. To prepare him, I lunged him with pool noodles on his back. They developed a life of their own up there, and he was completely unbothered by them.

He also knows how to go out as a companion horse, jump over cavaletti, bathe in the River Neckar and has taken part in a trail training session.

He is willing and motivated in everything he does, but he is a confident gelding who needs a clear, consistent and fair handler.

Since Easter, I have used him mainly at walk in my riding business for holiday courses, children’s birthday parties and equine-assisted therapy. He handles everything very well when guided by a confident adult. A lot of activity around him and on him does not bother him. I have the feeling that he enjoys it when there is a lot going on and something new is always happening. When he gets bored, he thinks up mischief or questions things.

I have not used him in regular riding lessons due to his current level of training, nor do I see him as suitable for this.

He was cooperative with the vet and osteopath, and I do his hooves myself every 4–6 weeks using an angle grinder.

I bought him together with another pony mare after their owner passed away. The idea was to train them and see whether they suited us and our business, or whether they should eventually move to a more suitable home.

Briko has now reached the point where he is ready for a new home with an individual owner. He was able to learn all the basics with us.

The main reason for selling him is that he does not fit well into our herd. His herd consists of two mares and one gelding. He behaves as high-ranking and dominant. He also covers our mares.

The second reason is that, as an owner of several horses, I do not have enough time and attention for him, although he would very much enjoy having them. We have therefore decided to look for a suitable home for him.

I see him with a lightweight adult—I believe he carries around 60 kg comfortably—who is experienced with horses, consistent and fair, perhaps even someone with previous experience of Icelandic horses.

I would like him to have varied activities and plenty of interaction. I can easily imagine him really enjoying circus exercises and liberty work.

In terms of management, I see him in a gelding herd with plenty of space, either in an open stable or on a track system. He is not a box horse!

I also do not see him as a pure children’s pony, a beginner’s horse, a horse for someone returning to riding, or a horse for nervous riders.

He can be sold with his equipment, including carriage, harness, saddle, bridle and cavesson.

The right home is more important than the purchase price! If the right person comes along, we will reach an agreement.

Further photos and videos are available on request.

Briko
Cruce de poni islandés, castrado
*Nacido en 2017
Alzada aprox. 1,32 m
Peso aprox. 360 kg

Además, cubre a nuestras yeguas.

**Briko**
Incrocio Pony Islandese, castrone
*Nato nel 2017*
Altezza al garrese: circa 1,32 m
Peso: circa 360 kg
Struttura robusta e armoniosa

Briko
Wałach – mieszaniec kuca islandzkiego
ur. 2017
Wysokość w kłębie ok. 1,32 cm
Masa ciała ok. 360 kg
Krępa i harmonijna budowa ciała

Następnie został przyzwyczajony do wędzidła i podwójnej lonży.

Przygotowywałam go do tego, lonżując go z makaronami piankowymi ułożonymi na grzbiecie.

Kupiłam go razem z drugą klaczą kucyka po śmierci właściciela.

Chciałabym, aby miał urozmaicone zajęcie i dużo kontaktu z człowiekiem.
