Earth-colored Icelandic mare

Auðna is a stunning 7-year-old chestnut mare. She is a five-gaited horse, standing approximately 13.3 hh, with a very solid and well-built frame, and she covers well.

She has been ridden in three gaits so far, is familiar with the riding arena, and comfortably goes out on rides both alone and in groups. She is used to being a lead horse or following as a handhorse. In handling, she is very sweet and shows enthusiasm for ground work, circus tricks, and free work.

Auðna is a rather sensitive horse and therefore not suitable for beginners. Those who appreciate this type of horse and are confident and consistent riders will enjoy working with her and can do anything together. She has a medium temperament and displays joy in movement, but remains always controllable. She is very intelligent, learns quickly, wants to do everything correctly, but requires patience and routine. For an empathetic rider, she will be a lifetime partner.

I am only offering her for sale because she tends to gain weight easily in my management system (24/7 pasture in summer and all-year-round meadow trail). She would feel more comfortable in a nice open stable with limited grazing. In the herd, she is more of a lower-ranking or middle-position horse and is generally uncomplicated.

She is not suitable for breeding, as she has not been successful in my herd.

In the last five years, she has never been ill, is completely resistant to insects of any kind, and has no eczema or allergies. She is barefoot and runs sound, and is farrier- and loading-friendly.
