Beautiful mare for long rides

I am looking for a new home for my 8-year-old Icelandic mare, Stelpa, as finding someone nearby to work with her has become quite difficult. It’s with a heavy heart that I’ve decided to offer her for sale, since I simply cannot dedicate the time she deserves alongside my other commitments. Unfortunately, her long-time rider has moved far away. 

Stelpa is naturally quite dominant and can be provocative at first. However, with consistent handling, she is very trainable. She responds to the slightest bit of pressure on her head and is absolutely fearless. She has beautiful gaits and a good basic tempo. She’s ideal for long rides. We have worked extensively on ground exercises, including lunging with two lines, and she’s familiar with being ridden from the ground or alongside a bicycle.

Under saddle, she walks in a three-gaited manner and shows no signs of tölt or tölt-like tendencies.

Unfortunately, her big personality is now complemented by EMS. She is fed a carefully balanced diet, so this isn’t a problem for her, but she must not be turned out on pasture.

In the herd, she is the boss, but generally gets along well as long as the other horses accept her position. She does not provoke on her own.
