Orion VA, charismatic APSL buckskin lusitano gelding

Orion VA is a charismatic 7 year old  APSL Lusitano gelding. Wherever he goes, he’ll impress the people around him, with his expressive appearance, his golden glow, long dark mane and tail. He is a baroque type with a beautiful compact conformation. He is very well behaved, confident and calm, he has character, but he is super honest and fair. He loves to work with you, he loves attention, he is full of energy

He has three very correct and balanced gaits, a wide walk, a comfortable trot and a super balanced uphill canter. Working with him is a true pleasure, he is very sensitive and responsive to the aids of the seat and legs, super light in the hands,  just the weight of the reins in your hand. .

He is ridden on a double broken water snaffle and goes barefoot everywhere without any problems. He is the ideal partner for a fine amateur rider. He does all lateral work, shoulder in and out, walk-canter transitions, counter canter, starting flying changes, starting exercises focused on higher school collection. If you are looking for a versatile partner, with talent for classical dressage and working equitation, he is the horse for you. 

About VA Lusitanos:
We breed our horses with care, the foals are born in the field, grow up in the herd, on hilly terrain, with trees, bushes, open parts, rivers, and a little lake, so they get used and confident with all different types of surroundings. They always have good quality hay and their portion of grains and minerals available. They learn a lot of good social behavior from each other, their moms and aunties in the herd, besides social interaction with horses, daily interaction with humans is also an important part of their education.
As we have very frequent interaction with our horses, they develop a deep trust in humans, which facilitates all of their interactions with both humans and horses. All of our customers confirm over and over again that our Lusitanos excel in confidence, calmness and ease of handling in all situations.

Since we believe that the Lusitano horse needs time to mature and develop their bones and muscular structure, we start evaluating each individual VA Lusitano when they are 4 years old. 

Orion started his training when he was 4,5 years old, first on the lunge and in hand and since he is 5 years old also under the saddle.
