Confident Trail Mare

Are you looking for a loyal partner for relaxed rides, someone who will stand by your side through thick and thin? Then my mare might be just the right match. She has wonderful gaits and is suitable for riders with back issues or those who are a bit nervous.  

This 13-year-old mare (about 15.5 hands) is seeking a dedicated, loving owner—preferably in a paddock, with a mare herd or a mixed herd, but without a stallion that bucks. She thrives in outdoor riding situations!  

Important note upfront:  
I am selling her with a heavy heart, solely for private and financial reasons, and not because of any health issues!  

**Character:**  
Typically mare-like—she has her own mind and can be a bit sassy at times, but she is fundamentally honest. She doesn’t particularly like strangers and isn’t suitable for multiple riders; she is looking for a stable, trusting partnership with a dedicated person.  

**Her strengths & training:**  
* **Trail riding:**  
Rides confidently alone or in a group, calm, clear-minded, and manageable. She’s traffic-safe, accustomed to dogs, children, and farm machinery.  
* **Groundwork:**  
She knows and performs targeted exercises from osteopathy that greatly benefit her health and provide great variety.  
* **Everyday handling:**  
Farrier- and loading-safe. Dentist and osteopath visits are straightforward (she may need some patience at the vet but remains manageable).  

**Health & Usage (with diagnosed left hind joint issue):**  
X-ray images are available in full. Due to her joint condition, she is only conditionally suitable for indoor riding and arena work. When the ground is suitable (not too deep or hard) and ridden on large circles, she can comfortably move in all three gaits (walk, trot, canter)—both in the field and occasionally in the arena. She requires no medication, just some appropriate supplementary feed.  

**Housing requirements (non-negotiable):**  
She must be kept in a paddock, mostly flat terrain, with 365 days of turnout, as continuous movement is essential for her joints.  

**Trial riding (please read carefully):**  
Since she is very person-oriented, needs time, and I want to avoid riding tourism, a trial ride is only possible with serious intent to buy. It will take place exclusively outdoors and under my supervision. To prevent unnecessary stress for the mare, I charge €30 for the trial ride, which will be deducted from the purchase price if she is sold later.

A custom-fit, high-quality Western saddle (only 1.5 years old, new price €3,000) can be purchased additionally at extra cost. It is in excellent condition. Further accessories are available and could be included in the sale.
