Australian Warmblood mare

Hello everyone,

We are looking for a wonderful final home for our mare as a conditionally rideable horse. ✨

Lizzy is a 16.1 hh, 20-year-old (born October 17, 2005) Australian Warmblood mare with a big heart. Once she has gained your trust, she loves cuddling and being petted. Lizzy definitely needs a special person to truly relax and let her guard down. Nevertheless, she is an open and honest horse.

In the herd, she tends to be higher in the ranking but prefers to avoid conflict. She chooses her paddock mates and stays close to her chosen partner. We only consider outdoor paddock living; she is not stabled full-time. Unfortunately, she does not like feed dispensers.

Lizzy loves children and enjoys being pampered. She is well-behaved but has a lot of energy. She is being offered as conditionally rideable, which will be documented in the contract. She requires extensive groundwork, especially as the lunging should not be the focus due to a previous injury to her suspensory ligament, which means she should avoid tight turns in the long term. She enjoys ground work and is also fond of pole work, although she still needs further training to lift her legs properly.

Currently, Lizzy is not in training at all, and we are starting from scratch. Once her muscles have built up, we do not rule out that she could be suitable for light riding or hacks again. She should not be jumped.

Lizzy has a spirited temperament and needs regular training to help her relax. She can bring her magnetic field mat for support during this process, which she responds well to.

She stands calmly at the farrier, almost falling asleep during shoeing. ☺️ Currently, she is on a 8-10 week trimming cycle due to slow hoof growth. For hard surfaces, hoof boots are recommended. She was vaccinated in July 2026, with the second vaccination scheduled for August. She was dewormed last in June, and her teeth were last checked in August 2025.

Lizzy comes with a few personal items, and we are happy to discuss if you would like to purchase anything additional from us.

We are in no rush to find her a new home and would like to get to know the potential new owner. We also prefer a visit to Lizzy beforehand to ensure a good fit.
