In fact, he has been ridden by small, beginner children with the utmost patience. If you can hold the reins you can ride this gelding. He will not walk off when you go to get on him, and he is as patient as the day is long. Gunner rides on a loose rein and he responds to light subtle cues and voice commands. He walks, trots, and lopes both directions flawlessly, and transitions into any gait with ease. Gunner stops, backs up, and moves off leg pressure. The KIDS absolutely adore him, and he comes with their stamp of approval. But he is still fun and safe for people of all ages. On the ground Gunner is an absolute gentleman. Gunner patiently stands to be groomed, bathed, saddled, and loved on! On top of being enjoyed in the arena Gunner loves to go out on trail rides!. Everyone in town was in complete awe when they saw such a stunning horse riding through the streets & sidewalks with such willingness!! Gunner has been ridden through the most rigorous of trails that around here has to offer. He will go anywhere you point him stepping through water, over rocks and logs, up hills, and other things of the sort. This horse is truly one of a kind. He’s accustomed to machinery, wildlife, dogs, goats, kids, flags, tarps, loud noises etc. Gunner rides perfect alone or will lead or follow in a group out on trails. He loves water and will go right into the crick. He is very sure footed and knows right where his feet are. He will only go as fast as you ask him and will just cruise along slow and steady. Gunner is the most comfortable to ride and you can enjoy him all day. Gunner has been introduced to obstacles and performed well. He has been roped on the ranch/pasture and has experience gathering cattle in the hills. If you are looking for a horse that you can pull up and ride once a week or once a month, Gunner is your guy!
