4.5-year-old Black Forest Chestnut Mare for Leisure and Therapy

With a heavy heart, I am offering my little, beloved 4-year-old Black Forest Fuchs mare. Merle is a very friendly, playful, and affectionate pony mare. She is currently 138 cm tall and well-built. We purchased her directly from her breeder in July 2025, who raised her with love and a lot of manners.

We are only selling her because she doesn't fit into our mare herd (all are too old and boring for Merle). She needs playmates and wants to be kept busy. The best environment for her would be a paddock or an active stable. Merle enjoys being scratched with other horses, playing around, and sharing a bed with them.

She has already been accustomed to various objects such as balls, flutter tapes, poles, wheelchairs, and terrain with all kinds of animal equipment. She is never afraid and approaches new situations bravely. As previously planned, she would have made a wonderful therapy horse. She would also be very suitable as a carriage horse.

Merle is familiar with the basics of dual activation and equikinetic training, as well as lunging in a halter according to Babett Teschen. She communicates very subtly and always wants to please.

The mare is barefoot and accustomed to regular hoof care. When riding on gravel in the terrain, we put shoes on her to protect her hooves.
