The Cob is an exception in the sense of not being a solid breed, even though it has just as easily recognizable characteristics as pure breeds. However, the difference is that Cobs (accepted horse type) can be achieved via different cross-breeding. The meaning of the name Cob describes quite well a ... More about the horse breed Cob

If you’re dreaming of a horse with a unique colour, lots of character, and the chance to grow and learn together, Tähistaevas might be the one for you.

In October, there is a chance to get free transportation to many European countries - read more below!

Tähistaevas is a young stallion with an eye-catching look and human oriented nature. In the pasture, he always comes to say hello first and loves spending time with people. In autumn 2024 he went to the Estonian Native Horse Breeders Associaton (EHKAS) young stallion show, where he showed off his lovely movement and jump. He got a young stallion licence to cover mares for 3 years. On show pictures he is 2 years old. By now he has grown up more and gained muscle and size.

Juges comments:
Walk: long, elastic, with good use of the back and a clear rhythm.
Trot: balanced, slightly longer than average, with sufficient front leg action and clear rhythm.
Canter: well balanced, spacious, long, elastic, with an even rhythm and uphill impulsion.
Jump: powerful, elastic, balanced, with quick takeoff. He approaches fences attentively, the jump has an upward direction, and his leg work is quick.

Why he’s special
-People oriented: great for liberty work
-Enthusiastic and willing to learn
-Jumping capabilities: can be a nice pony for show jumping or working equitation
-Convenient height - great potential for children but also strong enough build for grown-ups
-Well-handled: halter trained, dewormed, vaccinated, loads easily into the trailer.
-Has done lots of groundwork - lunging, transitions, bending, following a person in different positions
F-orward-thinking and lively, but not too much - just the right sparkle
-Not trained in riding in order to let him grow and mature. This will guarantee many healthy years to come!

If a new owner prefers a gelding, this is possible to take care of before going to a new home. As he is a young stallion he needs knowledgable handling to stay polite and lovely as he is now.

Tähistaevas is an Estonian native horse. This breed is renowned for its versatility and good-natured temperament. In general, they have good health and few troubles, which, in comparison, is common among many modern breeds.

If you decide to buy him before the end of October, I can provide you free transportation to Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Denmark, Germany, Belgium or Netherlands, as I have planned a trip from Estonia to Western-Europle. Possible transportation to other locations can be discussed as well.

Further information

I have a small horse farm near Tartu, Estonia which has around 10 horses. My special interest is Estonian native horses and Lusitano horses. My horses live a natural life in a herd. I combine a track system with grazing. My special interest is having grasslands with high biodiversity to keep my horses healthy with different plant varieties to eat. My horses are trained according to classical priciples. I have been into classical dressage for my whole life and the last 7 years I have been practicing the academic art of riding. All my horses have a strong foundation in handling and groundwork before riding, so they are reliable and confident partners for humans.
