Pillsbury is a 7 year old Welsh x Quarter Pony gelding standing a stout and sturdy 11.3 hands high. This pony is the highlight of our Back to School Pony Special, and not a day has gone by where we didn’t debate on hanging onto him for the kids to keep. He is a chunky, snuggly, smart little guy that is as reliable as the day is long. He hasn’t blinked an eye, or put a foot wrong with everything we have done with him. The kids rode him double, bareback, into town, and driven him through the drive through for lunch! He jumps like he’s heading to pony finals, and is a total superstar on the cross country course. He’s pushed cows, ponied the minis on trail rides with the smallest kids on board, gone to pony camp, been dressed up as a unicorn, had guns shot off his back, and created so many unforgettable memories for our kids and their friends. He makes you wish you were a kid again so that you could hop on and join in on the fun. Even from the sidelines, Pillsbury will make your heart full seeing just how happy he makes every one of his little riders.

Where hasn’t this pony gone? From going on rides to the park, standing patiently at the playground while the kids play, to riding to Sonic for a slushee afterwards, Pillsbury is truly up for any adventure. He was piloted by an almost 4 and 2 year old, straight into Tractor Supply and rode around to buy a bag of pony treats. If riding him around town isn’t your style, he’s great on the ranch too. Born and raised out west, Pillsbury is no stranger to making himself useful. He will trot along with the big horses to check fence, and stand patiently with the kids on his back while the adults doctor calves and work. If you come by our farm in the evenings you’ll probably see him bareback in a halter in the pasture with a kid or two on his back riding around doing whatever is asked of him.

Pillsbury is a little trail master. He crosses water, will climb up banks, jump ditches, and has even seen the cross country course! He’s an asset to a parent that needs a babysitter they can trust to keep the kids safe on the ranch, and cleans up nice to look like a little show pony when he’s in English tack! He has a nice stop, easy steering, and a super duper cute trot! Pop him over the jumps on the cross country field, or on hunter paces. He’s even been around hounds, so with his brains and quiet mind - he would make a fantastic hunt pony too!

In the barn, you’ll most likely see Pillsbury being groomed, braided, and maybe even being finger painted. He’s no stranger to getting a unicorn horn tied to his bridle and playing princess as well. He stands there all day like a saint, and soaks in all the attention. Pillsbury is a good boy for all the normal barn tasks, and is an easy keeper. He lives out in a mixed herd, gets along well with others, and has no vices or maintenance. Ride him 3 times a day or once a month and he’ll be the same steady pony as always.
